Your career path – it’s not always straightforward…

Today’s Harvard Business Review Tip of the Day comes from their book Harvard Business Review on Advancing Your Career and says that “Most successful careers involve a mix of lateral and upward movement.”

In offshore recruitment especially, we see a lot of both lateral and upward movement for our candidates. For some candidates, working in the Cayman Islands (or Bermuda or BVI) is all the change they need in their careers! But as the tip suggests, moving laterally into other areas in your field, broadens your experience and keeps your options open when seeking a route to the top. By becoming too specialised, you can reach a ceiling faster than you had imagined.

Our consultants are offshore recruitment specialists, who can help you if you are struggling with your career path (or if you are looking for a change in your environment!). We can provide you with career advice in offshore accounting jobs, offshore legal jobs, offshore IT jobs and offshore admin jobs.
