Working in recruitment has allowed me to meet many people hoping to make the move. The main question many have asked is: How was my experience moving to Cayman as part of a couple? For me, the experience was all too positive. Obviously, it is always hard to say goodbye to family and friends back home, but once we relocated, I felt settled almost immediately.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve met many so-called ‘newbies’ on the island. Just this morning, I sent them all an email to find out if their experiences of relocating had been the same as mine or if I had just been lucky. The result; turns out 100% of everyone I asked felt the same way! Don’t just take my word for it, have a read of some of the quotes I’ve been sent.

How Has Your Experience Been Relocating to the Cayman Islands?

“I was anxious about moving to Grand Cayman and living so far away from my family and friends, but from the minute I landed, I have been made to feel very welcome. Settling in is made easy by the number of social events organised weekly and weekends. I have particularly enjoyed getting involved in the numerous sporting activities where I have met some like-minded people who have made me feel at home.”

From Iain –

“Settling in was probably the biggest worry I had prior to coming to the island but turned out to be one of the easiest things about moving here. Everyone you meet has been in the same position as you have so can relate to your experiences. If you get involved with sports you’ll soon find yourself having to turn social events down and plans things weeks ahead! There is always something to do at the weekends (and most nights too)!”

“I came here with my partner and we found it so easy to make friends here because everyone is in the same boat having moved away from friends and family, your friends quickly become your family here.”
