About the role:
You’ll need to understand and model complex reinsurance structures including sliding scale commissions, loss corridors, time-indexed fees, and collateral posting and release. Additional duties include:
- Gain familiarity with, and subsequently comment on, the efficacy of contract wording
- Evaluate key clauses in proposed reinsurance contracts with respect to the corresponding economic modeling of the transaction
- Perform and assist with underwriting audits, focusing on key issues:
- Was risk assessed properly by the cedant
- Did the cedant adhere to the underwriting guidelines
You’ll be expected to hold a relevant designation such as your CA/CPA. Figuring out complex contract terms and data sets and being comfortable enough to present solutions to the clients will be essential.
